Greetings,
Messiah’s Branch ” Mission Church” will be sharing their 11th Thanksgiving with the homeless. The Day will start at 1 PM and dinner will be served at 3:30 PM. Foot ball will be shown all day long.
By request of the homeless found in the gap in Services have asked to do a sleep over so the Mission Church will be open all night Thursday night.
Messiah’s Branch Mission church is a family church located at 900 south Broadway. Pastor Dan Catlin and His wife Linda Catlin have been driving over to Wichita for the last 11 years opening on Tuesdays and Fridays as a day center for the homeless.
They give egg sandwiches out from 1-3 PM and a meal at 4:30 PM. The reason for only two days a week is that their homeless is 60 miles away so that makes it a 120 mile round trip. There is a clothing closet, they do first, and really many other things.
Pastor Dan is widely known all over the city by the many thousands upon thousands they have helped over the years. Many in the homeless community rely on the Catlins for many things other than the physical, spiritual needs are met such as prayers, comfort, family atmosphere, basically LOVE.
To know what all they do you would just have to come see.
They also have in the past acted as overflow and everything they do is not funded by any agency or the government in any manner, mostly they rely on a radio program twice a week to bring the funding in.
Right now they are trying after 11 years to bring in donations from Wichita as do to the economy it donations from across the world and the USA outside of KS have slowed down. Messiah’s Branch is the last hope for people without hope.
If you would wish and interview call Pastor Dan at 316-619-4886, email pastor@wichitahomeless.com , or drop by open times are Tuesdays and Fridays 1 PM till 6 PM and Thanksgiving 1 PM open all night as overflow.
Oh yes if you wish to really see them and see what others have said about them go to
