James 2:17
17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
As he walks in the door the people all look at him with great expectations some look like they are in pain, others hungry, others just look worn out and cold. He rushes on to his office to take his coat off and pray.
“Father just how are we going to provide today?” About that time the Pastor’s Wife walks in the office “well I forgot that case of salmon I had at home, so with no money I do not know what I am going to feed the people? Oh well somehow some way” She says as she heads out the door.
Now the people start to ask “ Pastor do you have pain killers, I need gloves, have you got socks, I lost my coat, what are you having for dinner,” It just goes on and on as the pastor tries’ to look strong he says “ My pockets are dry today”
Then a call comes and he has to go out and pick up even more people as the place is already packed, he wonders where gas money will come from for bus that is almost on empty. He knows as his wife does that somehow someday they will make it through the day and the greatest needs will be met somehow, someway. He knows that way is by having faith when all else fails he knows that he is in HIS Father’s will.
The city outside just goes on without notice of these people because the Holiday season has passed so much of the well doing will stop until next year, so sad. You see during the season that just passed the people in the city mad an effort to help the people with clothing, socks, food etc…but as teh season passed so did the giving.
These people in the gap in services will have to just rely on the pastor you see the People know the pastor and his wife, they know that when he has it they have it, today they all rejoice in the food mom will make and the warm building they are in and know that God the Father loves them because the pastor and his wife were sent to them from 60 miles away.
