Hi, I wanted to share some resources with you…if you go to http://wichita.craigslist.org/ , there you can make posts in the various sections such as volunteers, barter, wanted, and there is even a free section, where people give things away free all the time (ya just never know what it’s gonna be). There are alot of good people on craigslist, but be aware of some shady people than can find their way there. I just wanted to share, cuz I’m a poor person and Craig’s list has helped me on numerous occasions. There are even discussion boards and people share information and resources and advice, etc.
Also, i have known people who actually started nonprofit’s and they say that if you go to the library, the library has some large book (which you can’t check out) of places to apply to get GRANT money to start or fund your nonprofit or ministry. It is worth checking into. I guess the places all have their requirements and time lines for submitting, but once you get funding, you get funding for the year, which is a good thing.

I like your ministry, if only more church’s did what you are doing cuz there definately is a need for it and yes, it’s only been getting worse as our economy goes downward, spiral.
Also, here is a link to StreetRoots newspaper (another good resource to consider). http://www.streetroots.org/
They just won an award for this newspaper. Basically, they talk about social issues and poverty issues and homelessness and they print copies, get vendors (usually homeless but whoever wants to do this) to sell the newspapers on the streets (donations) the vendors keep the $$ and in turn, have some pocket money, all while promoting awareness about homelessness. Also, in the center is a resource listing of places for people of all the agencies and ministries in the city that have free meals, and other resources, such as medical, etc. It’s a great idea….maybe you could do that there?
